Physician - Department of Radiology, Chief of Thoracic Imaging Division (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Position Overview

We are actively seeking a Thoracic Imaging Division Chief who is leadership-focused, passionate about clinical excellence, dedicated to advancing research and innovation, committed to education, mentorship, and sponsorship, and who demonstrates a deep commitment to patient-centered care. OSUWMC is entering an exciting phase of growth of its ambulatory and inpatient services, creating additional, excellent opportunities to build upon and substantially expand our Thoracic programs.

Notably, the organization’s strategic plan includes facilities expansion and programmatic development over the coming years.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides patient care as related to the Thoracic Imaging Service.
  • Coordinates daily assignments of clinical staff to meet patient care needs throughout the Medical Center.
  • Establishes metrics and provides data‑driven feedback to the team to create strategies for development and improvement.
Administrative Duties
  • Provides executive leadership in the Department of Radiology, including identifying and articulating a vision and strategic direction for Thoracic Imaging related to clinical care, growth, educational priorities, and research and innovation.
  • Advocates for the professional and academic needs of the faculty in the division with emphasis on fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Represents the Department on matters pertaining to Thoracic Imaging in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
  • Leads the recruitment of Thoracic Imaging faculty and professionals as needed to support the clinical, education and research missions of the Division and the Department.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures to ensure consistency with best practice standards.
Education, Research, and Faculty Development
  • Conducts, oversees, and provides opportunities for lectures, seminars, and related educational offerings, both within OSUWMC and at the regional and national level.
  • Collaborates with faculty in the Division to develop and lead a Thoracic Imaging Research Program. This includes fostering collaborations in clinical trials across OSUWMC and the James Cancer Hospital.
  • Serves as a mentor and sponsor of residents, fellows, and faculty in the Division.
  • Conducts Annual Reviews for faculty in the Division.
Requirements
  • MD, DO, or MD/PhD in imaging and/or imaging‑related fields.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (A , ABOR);
    Diagnostic Radiology Residency with completion of additional fellowship training in Thoracic Radiology by time of appointment.
  • Demonstrates scholarly activity, with an established or developing national reputation in Thoracic Imaging.
  • Ideally, should qualify for appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. However, Assistant Professors demonstrating significant scholarly productivity will be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills desired.
  • Must support and embrace the culture of the Department, the Medical Center and the University.
