Job DescriptionAre you ready to lead transformative architecture projects and build client partnerships that shape communities? AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect. This position is to be based in our growing Cleveland, and Columbus OH offices. We’re looking for a leader in design & technical excellence. One who is driven by a passion for delivering quality work, mentoring staff, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
As a Senior Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding, design driven projects, you will lead interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen, you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction.
About the Ohio Buildings + Places TeamOur Ohio practice - anchored by large studios in Columbus and Cleveland - is one of the most established and highest-performing B+P practices in AECOM’s West Region. Our Ohio-led client base is global and includes Public Non-Federal, Cultural + Civic, Higher Education, Science & Technology, and Transit, plus a full suite of Federal clients (ANG, NASA, DHS, GSA, NPS, VA, USACE, USAF, USSF).

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:- In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager, you will lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects
- Supporting the pursuit of exciting new projects
- Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools
- Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems.
- Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects
- Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultant.
- Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
- Provide quality control reviews of projects in the studio.
- Detail oriented, thorough, well-organized and effectively manage time
- Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives
- Outstanding oral communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed as a registered architect
- Experience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to:
AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Power Point - Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
- Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment
- Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
