The Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Surgery is recruiting a nationally recognized basic scientist to join the Thoracic Oncology Program. This position is being recruited at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
Duties And Responsibilities- Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support research program; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding.
- Writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation.
- Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives.
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field
- Established record of basic science or translational research relevant to the study of lung cancer
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer‑reviewed journals preferred
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01)
- Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.
