Job Description
Summary:
Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
Provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric patients, ensuring excellent oral health outcomes through diagnosis, treatment planning, and preventive education.
Essential Functions- Examine patients' teeth and gums to diagnose conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Cleans teeth, removes plaque, and applies fluoride treatments to prevent cavities.
- Perform restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions to restore oral health.
- Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene practices and recommend care products.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including dental history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Supervise dental assistants and hygienists to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
DDS/DMD degree or international equivalent, required.
Licensure RequirementDental license in the State of Ohio, required.
Certifications- Certificate from a CODA-accredited advanced education program in pediatric dentistry, required.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical RequirementsOccasionally:
Bend/twist, interact with blood/bodily fluids, handle chemicals/medications, manage communicable diseases, flex/extend neck, handle fumes/gases/vapors, lift/carry 0-10 lbs, 11-20 lbs, 21-40 lbs, manage loud noises, patient equipment, push/pull 0-25 lbs, reach above shoulder, squat/kneel. Frequently: computer skills, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning), repetitive hand/arm use, sitting, standing, walking. Continuously: audible speech, color vision, decision making, depth perception, hearing acuity, data interpretation, peripheral vision, problem solving, vision (far/near).
Physical Requirements
Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with assistance from another person or equipment.
