Media & Content Specialist

The Media & Content Specialist crafts clear, compelling content across all channels while developing traditional and new media strategies, communications/messaging efforts and stakeholder engagement. This specialist advances complex public policy or community-focused initiatives with strong storytelling, which may require attending public meetings, interviewing stakeholders and handling other related tasks.

$60,000 – $70,000

Salary negotiable with additional experience

• Develop and edit clear, compelling content for digital, print, social (content calendars) and in-person communications (i.e., talking points or other content for public meetings, city council)
• Write and proofread for AP Style
• Translate complex public policy, infrastructure and community issues into accessible and digestible messaging for diverse audiences across all mediums
• Contribute to communications strategy, messaging development and campaign planning
• Support stakeholder interviews and engagement efforts, including preparing materials for public meetings, community events and client presentations
• Occasionally represent Murphy Epson at public meetings or community engagements, including limited evening (or rare weekend) events as needed
• Collaborate with designers, strategists and project managers to deliver cohesive, effective work
• Revise content and materials based on feedback, maintaining high-quality standards
• Assist with media relations with story ideas, pitches, press materials and background documents
• Follow established workflows, timelines and approval processes to ensure on-time delivery
• Apply quality assurance standards to strengthen writing, storytelling and strategic thinking
