Construction Superintendent

Elford is hiring a Superintendent in Columbus to lead field execution across healthcare, education, commercial/industrial, and multifamily projects. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who knows how to control a site, drive schedule, protect safety, and hold the line on quality.

We’re not looking for someone who manages from the trailer.

We’re looking for someone who leads from the field.

• Full on‑site leadership of crews and subcontractors
• Daily coordination of manpower, materials, equipment, and sequencing
• Driving the schedule — not reacting to it
• Enforcing safety standards with zero compromise
• Ensuring work is built exactly per plans and specifications
• Leading inspections, testing, and quality control from start to finish
• Running productive weekly job meetings
• Holding subcontractors accountable to scope, production, and craftsmanship
• Partnering closely with the Project Manager to protect budget and billing flow
• Correcting issues immediately — no punch list surprises at the end

• 10+ years in commercial construction
• 5+ years leading projects as a Superintendent or Foreman
• Experience managing multiple trades and complex site logistics
• Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and production control
• Comfortable making decisions and solving problems in real time
• Direct communicator who commands respect without ego
• Proficient with construction technology and documentation tools

• Strong backlog in the Columbus market
• Field leadership is respected and supported
