SummaryThis position supports the Child and Youth Services program by ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of children and youth. The role involves planning and conducting activities, maintaining records, and providing support for children with special needs.
Responsibilities- Serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant, maintaining control of and accounting for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of program participants based on group and individual assessments.
- Establish a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults.
- Help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provide options for children with special requirements.
- Maintain program participation data and complete daily reports.
- Direct deposit and a Social Security Card are required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Successful completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy, including annual influenza vaccinations.
- May be subject to irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
- For positions in Child Development Centers, possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
- Incumbent is legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
- May be required to administer medications, perform CPR and first aid, and provide reasonable accommodations for children with special needs.
- Travel to on- and off-post locations may be required; duties involve working both indoors and outdoors.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks, including a Child Care Tier 1 investigation, is required.
- Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
- Successful completion of annual (or transition) training requirements within the prescribed timeframe and demonstration of on-the-job competence.
- At a minimum, must have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

EducationAt minimum a high school diploma or GED is required. Proof of education must be provided at the time of application. Documents must be in English or accompanied by a translated copy.

$50,000.00–$60,000.00 per year.
