The House Manager serves as the main point of contact for performing arts patrons attending each performance and provides exceptional customer service to guests while maintaining a professional, helpful, and friendly demeanor. The role includes supervising ushers in ticket‑taking and seating of the audience before and during the presentation of theatrical productions in the Theatre, Film, and Media Arts building’s Proscenium and Black Box theatre spaces;
answering questions, providing information, and managing customer complaints; representing the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts to the audience; generating a short production report at the conclusion of each performance; and engaging with other team members as a helpful, cooperative, and trustworthy coworker.
Hourly Rate: $15.50/hr.
Qualifications- High School diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience required.
- Ability to multi‑task and work under pressure to manage periods of high customer volume.
- Desired: 2–4 years of relevant experience and knowledge of first aid and CPR.
