Marketing Business Operations - Control Lead

Job Description

Firmwide Impact Marketing & Communications team is looking for a Business Operations Control Lead to manage our team’s risk and control agenda and drive process improvement. We aim to build a positive reputation for JPMorgan Chase by showcasing the firm’s business, economic, and community impact through public‑affairs marketing and communications strategies that support clients, customers, employees, and communities.

The role requires a deep understanding of our operational models and close collaboration with Finance, Controls & Risk, Legal & Compliance, and other business functions.

Key duties include reviewing marketing content for proper approvals, monitoring expiring content, assessing vendor management and spend approval processes, and ensuring robust content‑management controls.

• Partner with the line of defense teams such as Controls, Compliance, and Operational Risk teams to develop procedures and job aids; support their test monitoring activities and planned audits.
• Serve as the team’s Authorized Approver for all marketing content, ensuring reviews are properly documented in our tool of record and addressing all legal feedback.
• Lead process improvement initiatives.
• Apply knowledge of vendor management, third‑party oversight, and sourcing processes.
• Project‑manage and deliver key work streams and tasks for Firmwide Impact Marketing’s campaigns and programs.
• Help drive budget‑management efficiencies and support annual planning and budget processes in close collaboration with Finance, including day‑to‑day financial activities.
• Provide a high level of responsiveness to ad‑hoc requests related to project management, presentation development, and analysis.
• Participate in collaborative initiatives with team members, continually simplifying, improving, and adding value to existing processes.
• Drive culture/employee engagement within the team (e.g., newsletters, town halls, off‑sites, onboarding, collaborative team SharePoint site).

• 7‑10+ years of relevant experience in marketing business operations, driving risk and control agendas with strong project‑management skills.
• General analytical capabilities, coupled with the ability to identify issues, gather and analyze data, obtain consensus, and implement change.
• Well‑developed organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities; self‑directed, proactive, high energy, detail‑oriented, and results‑oriented.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to synthesize the story for executive‑level audiences and adjust communication style based on the audience and agenda.

• Experience understanding business drivers and producing accurate analyses.
• A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and entrepreneurial leadership.
• Experience working cross‑functionally and collaborating with team members across business and staff areas at all levels, achieving goals without direct control over all resources.
• Self‑motivated, tenacious, and capable of working with a high degree of independence.
