Join the BDO Team in supporting federal contractors and federal funding recipients with compliance with Department of Labor Wage and Hour requirements.
Job SummaryThe ISS Manager, Prevailing Wage supports client projects to assist federal contractors and federal funding recipients with compliance with the Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour requirements, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis‑Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), and related Executive Orders. This position may also support client projects in connection with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with training, compliance assessments, and implementation of compliance programs.
- Conduct mock audits and navigate DOL investigations and disputes.
- Provide ad hoc compliance advice to clients.
- Act as primary client contact, executing on engagement needs.
- Supervise and train BDO staff on engagements.
- Contribute to thought leadership and practice development.
- Support contractors during DOL investigations and act as interface with DOL as needed.
- Analyze investigative findings and recommend remedial actions.
- Prepare historical calculations to remediate prior non‑compliances.
- Review and develop client policies and compliance tools.
- Assist with equitable adjustment claims, debarment proceedings, and other disputes.
- Assist Directors and Partners with client proposals and scoping opportunities.
- Participate in firm development activities, marketing initiatives, conferences.
- Produce thought‑leadership materials such as articles and white papers.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of relevant federal contracting experience.
- Experience with FAR, SCA, DBRA, FLSA, CWHSSA, Minimum Wage and Paid Sick Leave Executive Orders.
- Experience with the Inflation Reduction Act (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, analytical, research, and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Ability to apply specific rules and regulations and work with minimal supervision.
National: $110,000 – $140,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $110,000 – $140,000
Maryland: $110,000 – $140,000
