Overview

The Treasury Management Officer develops new depository business, managing all elements of the sales cycle to include business development, prospect qualification, needs analysis, and closing. Responsible for all sales of depository solutions to existing and prospective clients.

Responsibilities Level 1
  • Develop new cash‑management business by calling current and prospective customers, negotiating deposit pricing and terms within approval limits.
  • Build deposit relationships by cross‑selling cash management and bank products and services; work with loan officers and branch managers to present businesses with the best deposit services.
  • Manage the sales process to include depository proposal to implementation; coordinate with loan officers on an individual basis.
  • Build, develop and maintain profitable depository relationships with new and existing customers; focus on building a professional network for future business growth.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with loan officers to acquire new business and strengthen existing relationships; work with the commercial lending team to ensure ongoing customer service is provided to all depository customers.
  • Project a positive image of the organization through community activities; follow the lead of experienced team members while striving to enhance the bank’s image and strengthen business contacts.
Level 2
  • Perform all Level 1 responsibilities and add public‑fund management for courts, cities, universities, hospitals, etc.
  • Train other lending officers in non‑credit business products, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Manage service providers and vendors effectively; structure relationships, set expectations, develop performance metrics, measure vendor performance, provide feedback and hold accountable.
Level 3
  • Use extensive experience, sales skills and networking to develop new cash‑management business and lead community activity registration.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert for non‑credit business products; train other lending officers as in Levels 1 and 2.
  • Manage service providers and vendors strategically; set expectations, develop performance metrics, measure vendor performance, provide feedback and hold accountable.
Qualifications Level 1
  • 1–3 years of experience in banking or financial services; sales experience preferred.
  • Certified Treasury Professional or willingness to complete certification required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required;
    Cleartouch, Nautilus and government/investor software/web portals preferred.
  • CRM preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or related field) or equivalent experience required; master’s degree preferred.
Level 2
  • 3–5 years of experience in banking or financial services; 1–3 years of demonstrated success in a sales role required.
  • All Level 1 qualifications plus: 3–5 years of experience and demonstrated sales success.
Level 3
  • 3 + years of demonstrated, progressive success in a sales role required.
  • Certified Treasury Professional required.
Physical Environment
  • Regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms; may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Noisy environment quiet to moderate; office setting five days a week; typical work hours 8:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
