The Ohio Arts Council is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to assume the duties of Investment Associate (Grants Coordinator
2) in the agency’s Investment Office.
This Investment Associate will support agency grant‑making activities for both organizations and individuals as part of the agency’s Investment Office and work in partnership across the agency’s teams. The Investment Office staff forms the core of the agency’s primary work as a grant‑maker. Investment Associates assist the Human Resources & State Investment Director in managing critical agency functions for all grant programs, supporting sound stewardship of public funds.
Duties- Facilitate grants administration work for all agency grant programs: monitor applications, maintain data, prepare application materials, attend and provide technical support at panel meetings, input funding recommendations, prepare grants reports, monitor and evaluate grant activities, review submitted reports, and participate in program policy development work as directed.
- Read, interpret, and prepare technical reports: review applicant and grantee budgets, audits, and other documentation for completeness; assist in reviewing grantee budgetary materials for sound financial practices.
- Maintain excellent public relations: provide technical assistance to constituents over the phone, via email, virtually, and in‑person; answer inquiries about grant program deadlines, eligibility requirements, award reporting, and other issues; conduct periodic site visits and other in‑state constituent travel, especially to underserved areas.
- Maintain the agency’s online grant application system: be knowledgeable about system performance, functionality, and periodic upgrades or enhancements; provide reports and outputs for board and agency leadership; perform routine updates to forms and configuration settings; provide training and troubleshooting for staff as needed.
- Assist with special programs and projects: assist in special events (e.g., conferences, workshops, meetings, displays); represent the Investment Office in work teams and ad‑hoc committees as directed; perform other duties as directed in the agency strategic plan.
Knowledge of supervisory principles/techniques, public relations, contract & grant preparation, accounting, budgeting; skill in operation of personal computer; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, & draw valid conclusions; develop complex reports & position papers; gather, collate, & classify information about data, people, or things; calculate fractions, decimals, & percentages.
