ResponsibilitiesThe GP Admissions Specialist in Graduate and Professional Admissions will learn university structure, programs, policies, procedures, and admission requirements in order to calculate and enter overall applicant GPA as well as the GPA for each previous university in the Student Information System (SIS). Determines if the GPA criteria has been met and confirms all transcripts have been received. Evaluates authenticity of transcript documents.
Is taught to apply appropriate resources to interpret and evaluate program prerequisites, transfer credit and grading systems. Maintains current and up to date knowledge of OSU Graduate programs and degree pathways.
Updates prerequisite evaluations and enters calculated GPA on evaluation page in the SIS following predetermined guidelines. Also maintains an understanding of unique admissions processes, tools, applicant portals, and admissions course prerequisites for Professional programs. Advises prospective applicants on appropriate courses to fulfill prerequisites. Works collaboratively with colleagues to review, correct, and perform quality control checks for all prerequisites referrals for a consistent and accurate review of student coursework.
Reviews and responds to incoming questions, external (departments) and internal (Outreach/Student). Assists with annual update and review of area documentation, or other area projects. Performs quality control functions. Reflects willingness to cross‑train all functions within each area of Graduate and Professional Admissions. Assists in promoting a coordinated and collaborative, teamwork‑based environment.
Assists in maintaining quality control processes. Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Information Education/Experience- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and collaboration skills required.

Salary Range for this position is $19.28 to $19.40. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
