Job Description
Business Incentives Administrator

The Office of Grants within the Ohio Department of Development is presently hiring for a Business Incentives Administrator to help drive Ohio’s economic growth by managing key statewide grant programs and supporting strategic investments that strengthen businesses, communities, and workforce development.

As a Business Incentives Administrator
, you will support key statewide grant programs within the Strategic Investments Division. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of grant administration, including application review, award processing, contract execution, compliance monitoring, reporting, and ongoing grantee support. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and program applicants to ensure accurate documentation, efficient processes, and strong customer service.

You will contribute to continuous improvement efforts, assist with agency-wide special projects, support data integrity across grant systems, and provide strategic insights to help shape the future direction of the division’s grant programs. This position requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

What you’ll be doing
  • Administer and support multiple grant programs within the Strategic Investments Division, including application review, award processing, contract preparation, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with applicants, grantees, internal staff, and external partners to resolve deficiencies, ensure program compliance, and facilitate disbursements.
  • Manage and maintain program data and reporting.
  • Identify and address non‑compliance issues, prepare notices, and negotiate allowable project changes.
  • Assist with special projects to improve operational efficiency, customer service, transparency, and data integrity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, to support effective program administration and adherence to the department’s customer service standards.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, city and regional planning, business administration, political science or related area OR Equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in program and/or project administration.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with experience dealing with many types of people at various levels.
