The Division of Cannabis Control oversees the state of Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program Patient & Caregiver Registry and the non‑medical cannabis program. Licensed cultivators and processors must send a sample from each batch or lot of cannabis to a licensed testing laboratory to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities- Acts as administrator for the Division of Cannabis Control and serves as a document manager/organizer for all necessary licensee and facility documentation.
- Handles public records requests and serves as a custodian of records, maintaining and updating records for internal processes and internal organization of records for Legal, Licensing, and Compliance.
- Monitors Division needs and assists Division Counsel to complete special assignments/projects.
- Schedules hearings pursuant to Chapter 119 or revised code.
- Formulates and implements the internal procedure for 119 hearings.
- Manages business functions and coordinates between Legal, Compliance, Licensing, and Policy for compliance enforcement.
- 36 months training or 36 months experience in business administration, management science, or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have a valid commercial driver’s license.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 12 months training or 12 months experience in a supervisory, administrative and/or managerial position involving limited research and public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have a valid commercial driver’s license.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in an academic field commensurate with the program area to be assigned per approved Position Description; 12 months training or 12 months experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial or staff position involving limited research and public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have a valid commercial driver’s license.
