Job Title: Emergency Management Office Assistant
Department: Administration and Planning | DPS Emergency Management and Fire Prevention
As a member of the Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management & Fire Prevention, the Emergency Management Office Assistant provides support to all members of the Division under the direction of the Emergency Management & Fire Prevention Director. This includes managing calendars, room reservations, and meeting logistics. This position is also responsible for organizing and processing fire inspection requests and reports and assisting with organizing and maintaining multiple spreadsheets and online systems.
Also prepares correspondence, reports and presentation materials as well as copies files and maintains records. Assists with special projects as needed.
Education/
Experience:
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Skills: Proficient with all Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Comfortable with Adobe products, with an emphasis on Acrobat and Photoshop. Ability to communicate with a diverse population with academic, research, and business settings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and able to independently manage multiple projects at once and attention to detail.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to work through complex issues required. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with various levels of faculty, staff, administrators, students and outside agencies is required. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings or blueprints desired. CPR and first aid certification desired.
Salary
:
The target hiring range for this job profile is $18.37 - $23.99 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
