Emergency Management Office Assistant – Inside Higher Ed
Job OverviewAs a member of the Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management & Fire Prevention, the Emergency Management Office Assistant provides support to all members of the Division under the direction of the Emergency Management & Fire Prevention Director.
Responsibilities- Manage calendars, room reservations, and meeting logistics.
- Organize and process fire inspection requests and reports.
- Maintain multiple spreadsheets and online systems.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentation materials.
- Copy files and maintain records.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- High School diploma or GED; certificate or vocational training preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience (2-4 years preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable with Adobe products (Acrobat, Photoshop).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects independently.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and outside agencies.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, or blueprints desired.
- CPR and first aid certification desired.
Target hiring range: $18.37 – $23.99 per hour.
