Administrative Assistant 2 – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Join the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute to support the Department of Radiation Oncology. This role provides leadership and operational support, communicating across internal and external stakeholders.
Scope of PositionThe position offers a broad range of administrative services, including calendar management, document preparation, travel coordination, meeting support, and overall clinic workflow. The assistant serves as a liaison between professional and technical staff, patients, the general public, and other departments.
Responsibilities- Provide support to the Director of Clinical Operations, Associate Director of Radiation Therapy, Technical Director, and Business Operations Manager – Finance (35%).
- Coordinate multiple calendars, organize meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, schedule travel, process reimbursements, and handle conference room scheduling (35%).
- Research, compile, and present information to aid leadership in decision‑making (10%).
- Write and edit letters, reports, and other documents; manage correspondence and back‑up the Chair Suite (10%).
- Manage special projects, volunteer coverage for other assistants, and additional duties as assigned (10%).
Per Classified Civil Service Specifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications- At least six months of customer service or communications experience (600 hours of coursework or training).
- At least three months of budgeting experience (300 hours of coursework).
- At least six months of experience operating spreadsheet, publication, and presentation software (600 hours of training).
- Three to five years in a supporting role is desired.
- Background check required; candidate may be asked to complete a pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
