We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our client in Columbus, Ohio. This position is in the healthcare and social assistance industry and offers an excellent opportunity for growth, as it is a contract to permanent role. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and the ability to manage a variety of financial tasks with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all financial data is accurately recorded.
- Conduct thorough reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheets on a regular basis.
- Maintain and analyze the general ledger to support accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and reports are completed.
- Utilize accounting software, such as Abila MIP, to manage financial data and generate reports.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Generate and interpret financial reports to aid in decision-making processes.
- Support pharmacy accounting activities, leveraging industry-specific knowledge.
- Apply advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, for financial analysis and reporting.
Requirements - Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger management.
- Strong ability to perform account and bank reconciliations with accuracy.
- Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in using Abila MIP accounting software.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
- Healthcare or non-profit industry experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pharmacy accounting is a significant advantage.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
