Performs a range of accounting and administrative tasks for a real estate-focused family office.
Primary Responsibilities- Make and record bank deposits
- Process accounts payable (4-5 hours per week)
- Process recurring payments (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Confirm bank activity & make accounting entries
- Retrieve and reconcile bank statements
- Download bank & investment account statements
- Assist with end-of-year tasks (budget, distributions, 1099 preparation, etc.)
- Update Notes Payable & Notes Receivable
- Assist in resolving accounting issues and discrepancies
- Scan and file all tax-related documents (K1’s, 1099’s, etc.)
- Office Management - Opening mail, water plants, maintain office supplies
- 3-5 years’ experience Accounting / Bookkeeping
- Fundamental Accounting Processes - Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, General Ledger), Journal Entries, Equity Accounts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and knowledge of accounting software systems. (Quick Books experience preferred)
- Data entry and e-file management
- General accounting knowledge and application
