Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the month-end close process and oversee corporate accounting operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is focused on execution, team leadership, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong general ledger and close background, with the ability to manage deadlines and drive accountability across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full-cycle month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all deliverables
• Own the close calendar and coordinate activities across accounting, FP&A, and shared services teams
• Review and approve journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclasses
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and ensure proper account classification
• Review and approve account reconciliations, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are fully supported and aged items are resolved
• Support monthly consolidations and intercompany activity, including basic eliminations where applicable
• Prepare internal financial reporting packages and partner with FP&A on variance analysis
• Oversee corporate fixed asset activity, including review of capital additions and depreciation at a high level
• Support external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
• Drive process improvements to enhance close efficiency, standardize workflows, and reduce manual effort
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, ensuring accountability and consistency during the close process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong exposure to month-end close
• Prior experience in a corporate accounting or general ledger-focused role
• Experience reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and operate in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment is a plus
