Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Non Profit Senior Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This is a contract position that requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate will excel in month-end activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and manage month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to support accurate financial reporting.

- Create and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.

- Conduct account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to ensure proper alignment of records.

- Oversee grant accounting processes, ensuring funds are allocated and tracked appropriately.

- Utilize Financial Edge software to manage accounting tasks efficiently and accurately.

- Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and organizational policies.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

- Support audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.

- Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.

- Experience with bank reconciliations and grant accounting practices.

- Familiarity with Financial Edge or similar accounting software.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
