Position Overview

The Bookkeeper/Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing company day-to-day accounting operations. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and experience in real estate accounting principles. This position reports directly to the CFO. SEND RESUMES TO

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing rent payments, security deposits, and vendor invoices
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts monthly while investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Prepare and maintain property-specific financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Process monthly tenant statements, handle lease administration and maintain accurate records of security deposits, lease terms, and payment histories
  • Coordinate with property managers to track maintenance expenses, capital improvements, and other property-related costs while maintaining detailed records for tax and audit purposes
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate or property management
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books, Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms)
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Real estate or property management industry experience
  • Experience with CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations
  • Knowledge of local real estate laws and regulations
  • Certification in bookkeeping or accounting (CPA, CMA, or similar)
  • Experience with property management software

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
