Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will assist clients with their individual tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely preparation while adhering to all relevant regulations. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has a strong background in tax preparation, and is committed to delivering excellent service.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual tax returns, including 1040 forms, with precision and adherence to regulations.

- Utilize Ultra Tax software to efficiently process client data and ensure accuracy.

- Review client documents to verify completeness before initiating tax preparation.

- Assist clients in resolving tax-related inquiries or discrepancies.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to provide accurate guidance.

- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and ensure seamless workflow.

- Ensure the confidentiality and security of client information throughout the tax preparation process.

- Identify potential deductions and credits to maximize client refunds.

- Provide clear communication to clients regarding their tax filings and any required follow-up actions. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in individual tax preparation.

- Proficiency in Ultra Tax software is required.

- Strong understanding of individual tax return processes, including 1040 forms.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Knowledge of current tax regulations and compliance standards.

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
