Our clientis seeking a Senior Accountant to support their corporate accounting function. This role will be responsible for month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has strong general ledger accounting experience, attention to detail, and the desire to work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other departments to support financial accuracy.
- Assist with freight and transportation cost accounting, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Assist with audit preparation by providing schedules and documentation to external and internal auditors.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial data.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting function.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on month-end close and reconciliations.
- Previous experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
