Director, Technical Accounting

We are looking for a Director of Technical Accounting to work for our growing Columbus client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

• Develop and implement technical accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements
• Research and analyze complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams
• Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and policies, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and others as applicable
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements
• Monitor regulatory developments and proactively identify and assess the impact of new accounting standards and regulations on the company's financial statements
• Provide technical accounting guidance to business partners and cross-functional teams
• Manage the preparation and review of technical accounting memos and disclosures for SEC filings
• Develop and maintain relationships with external accounting firms, including technical accounting advisors
• Train and develop team members on technical accounting matters

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of experience in technical accounting, preferably with a Big Four accounting firm or in a public company setting
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience with complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and business combinations
• Experience with SEC filings, including 10-K and 10-Q filings
• Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS)
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
