Position Summary:
Using hand tools and test equipment, perform maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment, such as industrial controls, computers, and servo-mechanisms, following blueprints and manufacturer’s specifications. Maintain compliance with cGMPs for Medical Devices, change control, QA/RA notifications, and engineering adjustments within documented limits. Ensure adherence to BD quality systems, policies, procedures, safety regulations, and maintain punctual attendance. Must be able to read, write, and converse in English and uphold BD Values.

Key Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Maintain parts inventory and support engineering projects, including equipment installation and IQs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Test electronic circuits, locate defects, and understand the use of testing equipment.
- Install, modify, and understand control panel wiring; work with controls to modify PLC programs and maintain ladder logic.
- Train operators and assist with machine setup and operation.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and troubleshoot pneumatic and mechanical systems.
- Propose and review design changes to upgrade equipment and improve quality and efficiency.
- Support off-shift troubleshooting and repairs as needed; work flexible hours including overtime.
- Perform other duties as required to support business needs.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate’s Degree in a technical field preferred; or two years of technical experience in lieu of degree. - Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Basic computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word).
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
Work schedule may vary due to product and process needs. Flexibility and willingness to work overtime are required. Employment is contingent upon proof of COVID-19 vaccination or accommodation requests under applicable laws.
