The Workday Financials Product Leader will be charged with setting the strategic vision, crafting a roadmap, and realizing value from the Workday FINs platform. This role uniquely combines project management skills, product ownership, and stakeholder engagement to drive transformation and deliver impactful business outcomes within finance operations. The Product Leader will oversee multiple projects, effectively delegate tasks, influence change, and foster ownership and collaboration among stakeholders.

This position offers a hybrid work model. Nelnet values flexibility and recognizes the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid environment allows associates residing within 30 miles of an office location to work remotely part of the week while also encouraging collaboration through in-office presence three days per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Product Ownership
  • Define and clearly communicate the product vision.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps based on business requirements and system utilization.
  • Continuously enhance finance processes.
  • Maintain and improve the FINs technology landscape.
Project Management
  • Manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, establish priorities, and ensure accountability.
  • Monitor progress and report on key metrics.
  • Facilitate effective meetings and sprint planning sessions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
  • Establish trust with finance teams.
  • Translate business needs into requirements and user stories.
  • Drive user empowerment and feature adoption, supporting training and rollouts.
Governance & Collaboration
  • Represent FINs in governance forums and executive meetings.
  • Collaborate with developers, integration teams, and other platform leaders.
  • Work with global process owners to enhance service delivery.
EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance information system management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hands‑on experience with Workday Financials modules (Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses, Reporting & Analytics, Prism, Adaptive).
  • Proven skills in project management.
  • Experience in product ownership or Agile methodologies.
  • Background in finance or accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Technical skills with Workday Studio, EIBs, integrations, and reporting logic.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/programs in a complex, global organization.
  • Strong change management and training skills.

The pay range for this role is $100,000-$125,000 annually, depending on experience.
