Job Description

Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Avionics Installer Tech B to join our Retrofit team based in Columbus, MS.

You will be part of the team to perform avionics and electrical installations and checkouts on assigned aircraft or parts and subassemblies. Routes, terminates aircraft harnesses, and performs safety checks prior to power application.

On the eastern border of Mississippi you'll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It's here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your challenges Avionics/Electrical Installations (70%)
  • Perform assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in the manufacture, maintenance or refurbishing of aircraft.
  • Install electrical harness and sub-assemblies in aircraft by performing, but not limited to, the following activities; basic identification of wire and coax cable, clamping, bundling, mounting, routing, stripping, splicing, soldering, termination.
  • Assure that installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operation and function.
Avionics/Electrical Testing (20%)
  • Conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems.
  • Conduct bonding checks of electrical installations.
Avionics/Electrical Troubleshooting (10%)
  • Diagnose malfunctions or failures and make adjustments, repairs or replacements of parts or components.
  • Perform wire harness continuity checks, operational tests, and troubleshoot/repair discrepancies.

Your boarding pass Education

Required:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Some Aviation trade training.
  • Technical training in an electrical/wiring installation capacity such as Industrial, automotive or telecommunications may be substituted.
Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in electrical installation (Industrial, Automotive, or telecommunications)

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two (2) years General Aviation or Military Aviation
Licensure/Certification s

Required:

  • None

Preferred:

  • FCC, A/P License
