General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the store and for overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and executing company operational processes as needed.

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
  • Practice safe behaviors and maintain a high level of sales‑floor awareness.
  • Correct or report unsafe conditions or practices to store leadership.
  • Secure building, entrance/exit control, and cash office.
  • Ensure safe egress and respond to alarms when requested.
  • Report and handle customer safety incidents.
Customer Service
  • Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Recognize associates through company recognition programs.
Personal and Store Brand
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance according to the dress code and enforce it.
  • Keep all store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
  • Remove daily trash.
General Merchandising
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet company standards.
  • Handle receiving of merchandise trucks and non‑merchandise deliveries.
  • Process all merchandise with urgency and maintain stockroom cleanliness.
  • Help deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor.
  • Secure back‑stock and follow company policy.
  • Perform re‑wraps, floor moves, and signs as needed.
Loss Prevention
  • Promote loss prevention awareness and maintain a strong presence on the sales floor.
  • Protect confidential and cash information and secure merchandise.
  • Maintain PVM system and conduct “Code 50” inspections.
  • Execute company best practices to maximize productivity while minimizing steps.
Front End Supervision and Operations
  • Execute best practices to maximize productivity and ensure associates meet standards.
  • Maintain pace and presence at the front end and manage lines to expedite customers.
  • Train associates on cash registers, shortage control, and front‑end procedures.
  • Control breaks and ensure equipment and supplies are working properly.
  • Ensure go‑back compliance and teach the “Scan and Bag” best practice.
Fitting Rooms
  • Maintain cleanliness of fitting rooms and audit garment tags.
  • Ensure all returned merchandise is properly ticketed, scanned, and tagged.
Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager
  • Conduct cash pulls and bank deposits.
  • Handle front‑end control, refund approvals, and payroll administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
  • Basic mathematical calculation ability.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements / ADA

Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time. Must regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs;…
