Pay Rate$41.17/hour
Category/ShiftHourly Full‑Time. Maintenance technicians generally work a four‑day 10‑hour schedule:
Monday through Thursday 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, with every fourth Friday scheduled as an 8‑hour day (7:00 am – 3:30 pm).
The Role
This position supports International Paper’s Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF) facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi. CCF is a vital part of IP’s Global Cellulose Fibers Business. This is a J1 level Electrical Maintenance Technician position responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties, both as part of a team and independently.
Position ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair; conduit and wire installation; lighting repair; PLC troubleshooting and repair; drive troubleshooting and repair; instrumentation / control valve calibration, troubleshooting and repair.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Must be at least age 18
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
- Eligible for employment in the US
- Three (3) or more years verifiable experience as a J1 Electrical technician
- Previous multi‑skilled maintenance experience
- Must possess high standards in the areas of safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills.
- Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical related equipment and process problems
- Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment.
- Two year Associate Degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (Instrumentation or Electrical).
- Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
- Strong math/physics understanding
- Prior experience as a multi‑skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
