Hourly Full-Time. Maintenance technicians generally work a four day 10-hour schedule:
Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm with every fourth Friday scheduled as an 8-hour day (7:00am-3:30pm).

The Role

This position supports International Paper’s Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF) facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi
. CCF is a vital part of IP’s Global Cellulose Fibers Business. This is a J1 level Electrical Maintenance Technician position responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties, both as part of a team and independently.

Position Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair, conduit and wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting and repair, drive troubleshooting and repair, as well as instrumentation / control valve calibration, troubleshooting and repair.

About You:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required

  • Must be at least age 18
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • Three (3) or more years verifiable experience as a J1 Electrical technician
  • Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience
  • Must possess high standards in safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills
  • Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical related equipment and process problems
  • Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs, AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment
  • Preferred
  • Two year Associate Degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (Instrumentation or Electrical)
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong math/physics understanding
  • Prior experience as a multi-skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
