Finish Mill Day Shift Electrician - Columbus SDI

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and electronic repair and periodic maintenance on equipment
• Maintain and repair all electrical devices in the facility
• Repair and optimize drive control systems, PLC control systems and other closed‑loop industrial control systems
• Identify, design, and implement changes/updates that increase the productivity or reliability of the process
• Understand the steel‑making process and integrate this knowledge with process control systems to improve productivity, quality, and reliability
• Have strong electrical knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution systems, motors, motor control equipment, instrumentation, PLCs, and AC/DC drive systems
• Possess computer, networking, and programming experience – a real plus
• Demonstrate aptitude for learning; will be taught (by classroom or on‑the‑job experience) the more complex skills such as PLC programming and drive systems if theoretical knowledge and high work ethics are shown
• Understand mathematics (geometry, trigonometry)
