Microsoft Network Engineer (GCC High Environment) Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Microsoft Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and secure our complex Microsoft enterprise network infrastructure. The successful applicant must be an experienced IT professional with heavy experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing complex Microsoft enterprise networks.
This role involves managing and improving our network, servers, and Microsoft 365 systems in a high-security environment. The selected candidate will play a key role in a Microsoft GCC High system implementation alongside our network team and will ensure high network performance, reliability, and security across the organization.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience managing Microsoft Intune and implementing secure onboarding procedures for users and equipment.
Key Responsibilities Network Design & ImplementationDesign and deploy functional Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure.
Develop and maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation.
Configure and manage Forti Gate firewalls and switches, Cisco switches, wireless access point systems, and associated security components.
Implement scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures aligned with business needs.
Security & ComplianceCreate, configure, and enforce network security measures, including firewall rules, switch configurations, segmentation, and access controls.
Perform risk assessments and vulnerability assessments; implement corrective actions and improvements.
Work closely with the CMMC compliance team and specialize in designated control areas.
Support and align infrastructure with NIST and CMMC frameworks (knowledge strongly preferred).
GCC High & Microsoft 365 AdministrationAssist in the implementation and ongoing management of Microsoft GCC High environments.
Manage and optimize Microsoft 365 services including Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Defender.
Configure compliance policies, risk management tools, and vulnerability management solutions within Microsoft 365.
Administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint configuration, compliance enforcement, and device lifecycle management.
Build, streamline, and continuously improve secure onboarding systems for users and equipment.
Ensure all users have secure, efficient access to the tools and systems necessary to perform their roles.
Troubleshooting & SupportResolve network and user-related issues through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Conduct lessons-learned reviews and implement preventative improvements.
Provide advanced technical support for complex networking and Microsoft infrastructure issues.
Serve as a technical subject matter expert in assigned specialty areas.
Mentor team members as appropriate and integrate into our close-knit and high-performing network and support team.
Proactively learn and master new subject areas as directed.
Performance Monitoring & OptimizationContinuously monitor network performance and availability.
Conduct regular performance testing and proactively identify bottlenecks or potential failures.
Collaborate with the IT team to maintain maximum security, resilience, and reliability.
Project ManagementLead network, security, and infrastructure projects as directed by the IT Director.
Manage special projects of varying scope with professionalism, energy, and accountability.
Coordinate timelines, documentation, implementation, and post-project reviews.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications Technical Expertise
Deep knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs), routing and switching.
Strong hands‑on experience with Forti Gate firewalls and Cisco switching infrastructure.
Advanced Microsoft Windows Server expertise.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 cloud tools, Azure, Microsoft Defender, compliance policies, risk and vulnerability management, SharePoint, and Teams within high-security environments.
Experience operating in GCC High environments strongly preferred.
- Applicants should ideally have 3-5 years in a high level network engineering position with 7+ years of experience in IT.
Highly valued credentials include:
Relevant Microsoft certifications (especially those evolved from the original MCSE track).
CCNA or CCNP.
CompTIA Network+, A+, or equivalent certifications.
Tools & PlatformsProficiency with Microsoft GCC High.
Experience with network monitoring and configuration management tools.
Expertise in Microsoft security and endpoint management tools, including Intune and Defender suite.
Soft SkillsStrong communication skills (technical and non-technical).
