Job Summary

Highly motivated and skilled Embedded tools developer to develop and maintain failed part sensor emulation tool and similar solutions for Powertrain/Engine validation systems. This role focuses on creating tools to support testing and validation activities, particularly utilizing J1939, SENT, and LIN communication protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded C/C++ development, experience with Microchip XC32, and proficiency in desktop application development using C# (WPF/Win Forms).

Responsibilities
  • Interaction with customers to identify & gather program specific requirements
  • Requirements analysis of electrical and software design specifications with customers and internal teams to translate for embedded solutions development requirements.
  • Design, develop, and test software for sensor emulation tools utilizing C/C++ (Microchip XC32) for embedded components and C# (WPF/Win Forms) for desktop interfaces.
  • Implement and debug communication protocols (J1939, SENT, LIN) to accurately simulate sensor behavior.
  • Integrate emulation software with existing testing and validation infrastructure (e.g., test benches, Test cells, trucks, etc.).
  • Develop test plans and execute tests to ensure the accuracy and reliability of sensor emulation solutions. Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test reports.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (hardware, validation, system integration) throughout the development lifecycle, diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues related to developed solutions.
  • Data Acquisition - Prepares samples, verifies equipment calibration and performs tests according to an approved standard procedure or work instruction in a manner which ensures, and results in, data that can be trusted and delivered to the engineer or customer.
  • Lab Organization and Maintenance alongside Lab Manager and other Lab Associates
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in embedded solutions development.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ with Microchip XC32 compiler or similar experience.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in C, embedded system concepts, electrical design understanding capability
  • Proficiency in C#, experience using WPF and/or Win Forms in Visual Studio IDE
  • In-depth knowledge of communication protocols like CAN-J1939, SENT, and LIN
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Clear Case)
  • Hands on experience in Test bench and Vehicle validation
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and application software components.
  • Experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, etc.) or similar
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and fault detection techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills on different IDEs.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for leading-edge technologies.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

  • HIL Test Bench experience (NI, dSPACE, Vector, or other)
  • Associates degree from an accredited program in Electronics or Computers and at least two years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computers.
