Job Title: Heat Treat Set Up Technician

Report To: Technical Supervisor

Location: East Plant

Hours: 2:15pm-10:30pm (2nd Shift)

Pay Type: Hourly

Work Location: 8251 International Dr, Columbus, Indiana 47201, United States

Responsible for the set-up and start-up of production jobs as required to meet schedules and customer commitments. The set‑up tech will have the ability and knowledge to change over shaft, CNC turning and induction heat‑treat equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains cycle process integrity with the direction of the production supervisor
• Works with support department to ensure tools, machines and processes are optimized
• Recommends and implements changes and improvements to cycles, processes and procedures to maintain schedules and quality parts
• Maintain documentation and paperwork to support production cycles and procedures
• Works directly with process technicians to suggest improvements in processes and procedures
• Works with machine operators to improve current processes and procedures
• Performs set‑ups, samples and other production related duties to maintain production schedules
• Assists with training as necessary
• Ability to read machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts
• Follow safety policies and report unsafe working conditions
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor, such as operating production line

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:

• 3 - 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with the operation of CNC equipment
• Familiarity of metrics, blueprint reading, micrometers, calipers, Rockwell and induction preferred
• Prior experience with set‑up of gauging and programmable automation helpful
• Prior technical training desired
• Excellent verbal & written communications skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Capable of learning various software
• High School Diploma
