Responsible for managing incoming shipments, verifying their accuracy, inspecting quality, updating documentation, and ensuring proper storage of medical supplies. Manage the receiving and delivery process for the Columbus Surgery Center and the Columbus Clinic. Improve internal customer service through well‑managed supply deliveries. Utilize company vehicles and designated material handling tools to distribute products, packages, and/or equipment to internal customers. Count document and separate all items being delivered.

Evaluate deliveries for damages, and expiration dates. Verify items against purchase orders. Assist with the internal delivery put away process as requested by supervision. Provide excellent customer service communicating with vendors, employees, and patients.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Verify and sign for deliveries:
    Ensuring that all incoming shipments are correctly received and recorded.
  • Unload delivery trucks and check shipments against the packing slip and or purchase order.
  • Load shipments on truck and/or van for distribution transport to campus to defined campus locations.
  • Utilize hands trucks, pallet jacks and carts to transport and deliver packages.
  • Update records:
    Keep track of the inventory received and ensure that it is accurate.
  • Processing returns:
    Handling returns for items that are damaged or not as part of the order.
  • Manage and maintain the systematic locations for deliveries for the Surgery Center and Columbus Clinic.
  • Inspecting the condition of products:
    Checking the goods received are in good condition as per the order and. for expiration dates.
  • Maintaining cleanliness:
    Keeping the receiving area organized and clean.
  • Communicating with vendors:
    Addressing any delays or problems with shipments.
  • Communicate all delivery carrier schedule changes to internal customers (Medline, FEDEX, UPS etc.).
  • Provide exceptional customer service for all employees receiving packages.
  • Assist with the stock put away process for deliveries as assigned First-In, First-Out (FIFO)
  • Deliver items to assigned departments as designated specifically from the package.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to reconcile discrepancies that prohibit vendor payment as it relates to the delivery.
  • Break down boxes and transport boxes to the designated bin as assigned by supervisor.
  • Data entry for requisitions as needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

Required:

  • Two (2) years’ experience working in materials management, purchasing or medical supply

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
  • Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
  • Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  • This position may require irregular work hours.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Software, specifically Excel.

Preferred:

  • Negotiation and conflict resolution experience
  • Previous inventory management experience
