REPORTS TO:

Regional Coordinator

Primary Function: The job of Electrician is done for the purpose/s of maintaining electrical systems and components in safe operating condition; providing information on proper operation of electrical systems; identifying location of existing electrical systems; determining the efficient installation of additional systems.

Position will remain posted until filled.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Educational Level:

High School Diploma or GED

2. Certification/License

Required:

Valid Driver's License

3.

Experience:

Job related experience is required.

4. Physical

Activities:

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities; able to work at heights using extension ladder, hydraulic lift or scaffolding; able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted

5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Written and oral communication; knowledge of electrical codes, safety measures, and power requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

2.

Analyzes a variety of drawings (e.g. new and existing electrical systems, etc.) for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of additional systems.

3.

Assists other electrical personnel as needed (e.g. Licenses Electrician, etc.) for the purpose of completing electrical repairs and installations.

4.

Installs electrical systems on low and/or high voltage power (e.g. underground electrical conduit, fire alarms, switchboards, audiovisual alarms, etc.) for the purpose of providing updated, enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities.

5.

Performs work under a variety of conditions (e.g. heights requiring use of extension ladder or hydraulic lift, etc.) for the purpose of completing electrical repairs and installations.

6.

Repairs a wide variety of items, systems, and/or components (e.g. communication systems, door locks, lighting fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe, working condition.

7.

Requests equipment and supplies (e.g. switch boxes, wiring, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.

8.

Researches a variety of work-related topics (e.g. state or federal regulations, new safety protocols, emerging trends, etc.) for the purpose of remaining current in the field as well as keeping the district up-to-date on new local, state, and federal regulations.

9.

Responds to emergency situations (e.g. power outages, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

10.

Transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.

11.

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.
