Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence, works opposing shifts, and leads the store team in servicing customers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs.
  • Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours.
  • Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching and mentoring team members, and ensuring team members are current on their training.
  • Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
  • Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
  • Ensure all buy online, ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
  • Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
  • Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and friendly, refunds are issued accurately using the correct payment methods, and returned merchandise is staged in the returns area correctly.
  • Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
  • Communicate Zipline messages, Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure that team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted work schedules, obtain approvals for deviations, and clock in/out accordingly.
  • Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, securing money, preparing bank deposits, ensuring night security, locking doors, and securing delivery vehicles.
  • Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills / Education / Knowledge / Experience / Abilities
  • Required:

    Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification
  • Desired:
    Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification
    Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
