Job Description

The cook supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to the center children. The cook is also responsible for the cleanliness, inventory, and safety of the kitchen. Pay determined by experience.

• Follow menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook, and deliver meals.
• Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Keep inventory of food, paper products, cleaning supplies, and other items in the kitchen.
• Assist delivery driver with all food and supply orders weekly from store.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• And all other duties as assigned.

• Maintain a valid First Aid and CPR Certification
• Obtain Food Preparation and Nutrition Training certification (four hours) within first 30 days of employment
• Maintain a satisfactory criminal records and comprehensive background check
• Complete 18 hours of professional development training annually
• Ability to lift 30 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to move as the position requires
• 2 years food service experience, preferably in a school/day care center

• Most major holidays off
• Weekends off
• Shift ends in early afternoon
