Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, following all regulatory and company policy requirements. Functions as part of the hemodialysis health care team providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care and reports incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the supervisor.

- Customer Service: Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards; accountable for outstanding service to all internal and external customers; develop and maintain effective relationships; take initiative to resolve issues timely.
- Patient‑Related: Provide direct patient care for assigned patients; perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures; administer and monitor treatments; monitor and document dialysis parameters; report significant changes or equipment problems; assist in teaching plans for patients and families; respond to emergencies; administer intravenous medication; perform pre, interim, and post‑treatment reviews; initiate basic CPR and respond to cardiac or pulmonary arrest.
- Technical: Safely operate all dialysis equipment; provide troubleshooting; maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment; address blood spills per Bloodborne Pathogen Control Policies; operate emergency equipment per SOPs.
- Staff‑Related: Participate in staff meetings; assist in patient care plan meetings; acquire current practice knowledge through in‑service classes; act as a resource for other staff; coordinate care plans with physician, dietitian, and social worker; perform other duties as assigned.
The role involves desk and computer work, interaction with patients, staff, and physicians, frequent heavy lifting and moving of patients, and assistance with ambulation. Employees must stand frequently, bend, move equipment up to 200 lbs., and lift chemical water solutions up to 30 lbs. May require travel between facilities and attendance at regional, business unit, and corporate meetings. Work environment is a health care facility with controlled temperature and moderate noise.
Exposure to infectious materials possible.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN).
- Current State licensure.
- One year medical‑surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.
- ICU experience preferred but not required.
- Completion of a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.
- CPR Certification.
- Completion of the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire or soon thereafter.
- Availability to provide coverage during short staffing or as required.
- Pass Ishihara’s Color Blindness test.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
