Description:

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of care providers.
They ensure that patients and families receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.
The practice environment is supported and administered by Nurse Managers and leaders.
The framework for practice includes a professional practice model and evidence-based research.
All RN Clinical Nurses should be licensed and knowledgeable, upholding the practice of nursing.
Individuals are expected to implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards.
As a member of the patient services team, the RN advocates for patients and supports service excellence goals.

Essential Functions:

The RN performs the Nursing Process, ensuring individualized care using evidence-based practice.
They provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects cultural diversity.
Collaboration with patients and significant others is essential for setting and achieving care goals.
The RN practices using current clinical standards, coordinating safe, quality patient care.

Teamwork and

Collaboration:

RNs coordinate delivery and documentation of patient care, promoting inclusive communication.
They demonstrate teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting staff recruitment.
Participation in performance improvement initiatives is necessary for safe and quality patient care.

Professional Development and Initiative:
All RNs complete required professional competency assessments and ongoing education.
They may serve as preceptors or mentors for other nurses and health care professionals.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
RNs promote evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement initiatives.
Compliance with healthcare policies and safety goals is expected.
Participation in data collection and addressing practice questions is encouraged.

Resources and Support:
RNs proactively plan for the continuum of patient care during direct patient contact.
They may assist in developing protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
