What You Will Do
We have an opportunity for a Final Inspection (FX) Team Member to be based in Columbus, GA. This full-time, second shift position (weekday evenings).
Primary Responsibilities- Perform a wide variety of complex inspection procedures and related paperwork, develop expertise to resolve inspection process problems, set up and operate equipment, perform periodic preventive maintenance, and maintain all required certifications.
- Training and/or education in Quality processes or its equivalent, including on the job training in visual, dimensional inspections, receiving, and final inspections.
- Responsible for signing off product inspected.
- Conduct daily walk around of equipment, maintain cleanliness of inspection area and be capable of troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Daily information gathering on parts in Quality cells and helping set expectations based on incoming WIP
- Communicate with other departments and assist in closure of issues which prevent nonconforming material from disposition and prevent material from final inspection
- Identifying nonconformities in process and product, explaining those nonconformities, and writing detailed descriptions of them for Engineering evaluation
- Engaging in RCCA activities
- Creating and closing inspection lots
- Setting daily priority for sonic cell
- Understanding fundamentals of UT inspection and ability to troubleshoot tanks/programs/process
- Interfacing with technical teams (QPE, ME, etc.) to ensure inspectors have what they need to meet production goals
- Must communicate across shifts effectively
- Accelerate the processing of F3887s
- Solumina support for forge/heat treat/machining cells and process tryouts
- Support entire shop with holds/inspections in rMRP
- Follow all EH&S rules and guidelines
- Be able to work in a team environment and handle multi-tasking duties
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be flexible on shift schedule
- Must be able to obtain Final Inspection Certification within designated timeframe as required by Pratt & Whitney qualifications.
- Two to five years’ experience in quality/aerospace manufacturing environment
- Technical degree preferred
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures
- Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
