What You Will Do
  • We have an opportunity for a MCL Quality Technical Team Member to be based in Columbus, GA.
  • This is a weekend night shift position, 7pm-7am. There is a Shift Premium included in compensation when working this shift.
Responsibilities include
  • Perform daily walk arounds to prior to testing
  • Receive-in and inspect testing specimens for accuracy
  • Sort priorities as needed
  • Operate multiple machines for Specimen testing
  • Comply with all training required including Quality procedures as well as MCL Manuals and Standard Work.
  • Log testing data in UGA
  • Maintain required log books
Lab Inspection
  • Ensure incoming specimens meet J section specifications
  • Visually inspect specimens and with the usage of gauge
  • Ensure specimens are prioritized correctly
  • Ensure receiver number, shop dimensions, and alloy data matches the envelope
Grainsize
  • Perform internal and external grainsize operations on parts
  • Follow blueprints, Work Instructions and GBMOP to mark locations accurately
  • Utilize different chemicals for the etching process
  • Prepare specimens by operating different equipment and polishing methods
  • Use Solumina and UGA for data recording
  • Perform grainsize readings on the microscope
All
  • Perform 6s each shift
  • Engage in process optimization to allow success of production/quality goals while achieving and maintaining cost savings
  • Complete all training within the expected time given
Qualifications You Must Have
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be willing to work the scheduled shift and may need to train on an alternate shift.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • 1+ Year of related work experience in machining and/or quality.
  • Familiar with blueprints.
Qualifications We Value
  • Two to five years’ experience in quality/aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures.
  • Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings.
  • Good organizational skills.
