The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. The RBT provides one-on-one behavioral support to help clients build communication, social, and daily living skills.
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as written by the BCBA
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy in home, school, or community settings
- Collect and record accurate data on client progress and behaviors
- Assist with skill acquisition programs and behavior reduction strategies
- Follow ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, caregivers, and team members
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and team meetings
- Maintain current RBT certification and required documentation
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow behavior plans and take feedback from supervisors
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations, required
- Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
- Ability to engage in active play and therapeutic activities
- In-home, school-based, or clinic-based settings
- May include daytime, after-school, evening, or weekend hours
