As a District Drug Coordinator & 340B Compliance Officer (PH RN
2) within the Columbus Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

This position will be based in Columbus, GA and will be responsible for purchasing, receiving, storage and handling, inventory, and packaging of medications for distribution of all 340B and non-340B medications to each health department.

You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Receive monthly/quarterly/annual inventory reports and requisitions from the district’s 16-county health departments.
  • Develop packing slips for all medication deliveries prior to the deadline.
  • Receive all inventory reports, returned packing slips and invoices, and maintain a tracking method of each for all medications.
  • Serve as the 340B Compliance Officer for the district, including 340B policy and procedure development, ongoing education and training for staff, 340B rules/guidance surveillance, annual recertification on the HRSA OPAIS website.
  • Work directly with District Billing to ensure cost savings and program compliance.
  • Conduct self-audits and external audits. 340B contract pharmacy management, monthly and annual reporting, and routine monitoring and tracking.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification One (1) year of nursing experience AND. A copy of college transcript is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and one (1) year of professional nursing experience.

All West Central Health District 7 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
