Pay Rate: $90,000 - $120,000 annually (based on experience) + Relocation Assistance Available

Position Description

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 5-8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering to lead and deliver impactful infrastructure and development projects across public works, transportation, commercial, energy, and industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Geotechnical Project Engineer who is ready to take ownership of projects, mentor junior engineers, and grow into expanded leadership responsibilities.

In this role, you will manage projects from subsurface investigations and geotechnical analysis through design recommendations, reporting, client engagement, and construction support, ensuring safety, quality, and technical excellence throughout.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and perform geotechnical field investigations, subsurface explorations, and site inspections

* Conduct soil mechanics analysis, foundation design, slope stability analysis, settlement calculations, and earthwork evaluations

* Interpret and evaluate laboratory and field testing data for technical reporting

* Prepare and review detailed geotechnical engineering reports, proposals, and cost estimates

* Manage project scope, schedule, and budgets to ensure successful delivery

* Provide technical quality control and peer review of engineering documents

* Develop engineering recommendations and resolve design and construction challenges

* Review construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications

* Supervise and mentor graduate engineers, field staff, and project engineers

* Interface directly with clients to define scope, communicate findings, and provide solutions

* Support business development efforts including proposal writing and client relationship management

* Promote strong safety culture and quality assurance practices

Required Skills/Education

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline

* Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required

* 5-8 years of geotechnical engineering experience

* 1-2+ years of experience post-PE licensure preferred

* Strong expertise in:

* Geotechnical analysis and design

* Soil mechanics and foundation engineering

* Technical report preparation

* Construction observation and inspection

* Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and client relationships

* Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior staff

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

* Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
