Job Summary
The TSYS School of Computer Science is now accepting applications for Graduate Lab Assistant positions for Spring 2026. Please note that we only have one position available currently an hiring is competitive.
Responsibilities
Graduate Lab Assistants in this role will support faculty with the delivery of computer science lab sessions in classroom settings and provide tutorial assistance to undergraduate students in the Computer Science Tutoring Lab, both in person and online.
Tutoring responsibilities will include support for the following courses: CPSC 1301K, CPSC 1302K, CPSC 1555, CPSC 2105, CPSC 2108, CPSC 2125, CPSC 3111, CPSC 3116, CPSC 3118, CPSC 3121, CPSC 3131, CPSC 6105, CPSC 6106, CY 2159, and CY 2160.
Additionally, Graduate Lab Assistants must pursue the thesis track and are required to dedicate five hours per week to research activities unrelated to their thesis, conducted in collaboration with a faculty member.
Required Qualifications
Must be a graduate student in the Applied Computer Science program in one of the following concentrations: AI & Data Science, General, or Software Development. Must be proficient in Java and Python. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The position is competitive, so all applicants will be required to demonstrate their skills in Java and Python.
Proposed Salary
There is a stipend of $6,000 per semester. This position also pays for tuition, not including fees. This position works 19 hours per week.
Work Schedule
The Academic Operations Coordinator, Jennifer Stone, will create a schedule based on the graduate student's class schedule. The schedule will be set for the semester, and no changes will be made once it is set.
