Job Summary

The Student Support Services Assistant reports to the Directors of the CAC (Center for Academic Coaching) and the ACT (Academic Center for Tutoring). The SSS Assistant collaborates with all CAC and ACT staff and student workers to ensure exceptional customer service is provided to students and other stakeholders while providing accurate and timely information via multiple channels of communication.

Responsibilities
  • Academic Center for Tutoring – Create and maintain student staff schedules using the online scheduling system; manage student employee time entry and approval.
  • Maintain, collect, and collate data from the online scheduling system and SIS.
  • Support the Director in marketing, recruiting, training, monitoring staff, and assessing services.
  • Support the Director in supervising and training student workers including tutors, peer leaders, and front desk support students employed by the ACT in professional standards of behavior.
  • Organize and staff internal and external events.
  • Manage the physical spaces of the center to ensure they stay tidy, professional, and functional.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming lobby area, including greeting students and directing them to appropriate services.
  • Manage incoming communications (calls, chats, emails, voicemail); respond verbally and in writing to inquiries and information requests.
  • Independently schedule and complete all assigned tasks accurately and timely each semester.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
  • Center for Academic Coaching – Provide quality customer service and maintain professional relationships; monitor student traffic for advisors during peak periods; assist with appointments, data management, and supervision of CAC student workers; support marketing, recruitment, training, and service assessment; organize events; operate basic office equipment and software; complete tasks independently each semester; all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree (AS/AA) and at least two years of higher education administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Proposed Salary

The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $35,868 - $38,852 and includes full benefits.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and student support software (Target X, Accudemia); copy editing and writing of traditional business correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and conflict management with a customer-service focus.
  • Familiarity with CSU policies, procedures, and support services.
  • Experience with Windows and Chrome OS.
  • Thorough knowledge of office management principles, procedures, systems, and equipment; attention to detail and accuracy; ability to multi-task; strong time management, organization, and written/spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, manage stress, and work in a lively environment.
