The Custodian I serves as part of a team of 3–4 custodial staff. Each team is responsible for an assigned list of buildings and facilities in line with APPA standards for custodial services. This Custodian position will be based on Columbus State University's River Park campus.

• Perform and ensure cleaning requests are completed properly and in accordance with APPA standards.
• Assist in completing workloads for assigned buildings.
• Respond to custodial emergencies as needed.
• Serve as a brand ambassador of University Operations and Columbus State University.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three years of related supervisory experience and/or training.

The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $27,836–$29,816 and includes full benefits.

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, smell.
• Considerable knowledge of proper custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Considerable knowledge of the operations and use of equipment, tools, and supplies used in custodial maintenance.
• Ability to occasionally lift 30–50 pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
